Founded in 1953 by Bob Koester in St. Louis, Missouri, originally as Delmar Records. In 1958, Koester moved to Chicago and rebranded the label as Delmark Records. It is the oldest continuously operating jazz and blues record label in the USA. Notable albums by Junior Wells & Buddy Guy (Hoodoo Man Blues), Magic Sam (West Side Soul), Otis Rush (Cold Day in Hell), and Roosevelt Sykes (Hard Drivin’ Blues), preserve and promote the gritty, soulful essence of Chicago’s music scene.

We’ve updated our admission pricing and visitor information starting July 1st 2026.  Members still enjoy free admission, and the Gift Shop remains free to visit!
