Holden Garcia
Holden Garcia is a passionate young musician who loves to perform. His whole life, he has enjoyed listening to music, going to shows, and dreaming of one day taking the stage. Since his first solo performance in Summer 2022, Holden has been performing regularly at open mics and other venues in the greater Plainfield area, such as Bronkberry Farms (Plainfield), Black Dog Vinyl Café (Plainfield), The Forge (Joliet) and Sable Creek Winery (Plainfield).
Holden plays a variety of Americana rock cover songs from artists such as Mumford and Sons, Zac Brown Band, Nathaniel Rateliff, BoDeans, The Lumineers, Dave Matthews Band and more. Additionally, he writes and performs his own music and released his first four songs in August 2024.
Holden Garcia grew up around music. Although his first instrument was a drum set (and he dabbled in trombone and trumpet for a brief while), he has always loved the guitar. Early on, he endlessly watched videos featuring his uncle on guitar and vocals as he started developing his taste in music, and eventually teaching himself to play guitar.
One fateful summer day in 2022, Holden asked to set up his guitar and mic by the sidewalk during the neighborhood garage sale while most kids would have a lemonade stand. A neighbor heard him playing and helped get him in touch with a local art fair organizer. A week later, he was playing his first gig for a wonderfully-supportive audience.
After the success of his first booked public appearance, Holden began working to expand his repertoire and perform at every available opportunity. He has also become a regular fixture at local open mic nights, even debuting a few original songs.
Although he did have guitar lessons for a short few months that first summer and during a School of Rock concert season, Holden remains largely self-taught.
In addition to various open mics, Holden has performed at the Bitter Jester Music Festival, the Homegrown Arts & Music Festival, Homer-Fest, the Taste of Westmont, and Black Dog Vinyl Cafe for National Record Store Day.
