Enuff Z’nuff
Enuff Z’Nuff is an American glam metal band from Blue Island, Illinois, founded by singer Donnie Vie and bassist Chip Z’Nuff. The band gained recognition with hits “Fly High Michelle” (#47) and “New Thing” (#67) on the US Hot 100 and has released 17 studio albums over a 30+ year career. Their music, featured on major labels Atco and Arista Records, has been recorded by artists like Paul Gilbert and Nelson.
Formed in 1984 as “Enough Z’Nuff,” the band released its self-titled debut in 1989, achieving mainstream success. Despite their glam rock image, Vie preferred the label “power pop.” Their follow-up albums, Strength (1991) and Animals with Human Intelligence (1993), earned strong reviews but struggled commercially, leading to label changes.
Throughout the years, Enuff Z’Nuff faced lineup changes and tragedies, including the deaths of guitarist Derek Frigo (2004) and drummer Ricky Parent (2007). Vie departed multiple times, while bassist Chip Z’Nuff eventually took over lead vocals. The band continues to record and tour, releasing albums like Diamond Boy (2018), Brainwashed Generation (2020), Hardrock Nite (2021), and Finer Than Sin
