Meet Alice Nichols

Director of Operations

Alice Nichols joined the museum as Director of Operations after a 35-year career in technology sales and consulting where she worked with a wide range of organizations — from small privately owned companies to Global 1000 corporations.  Alice worked for Microsoft for 20 years, developing business strategies and managing their alliance partnership with Accenture, cultivating high profile executive relationships while growing their joint business initiatives.  Prior to Microsoft, Alice co-founded several niche software development and consulting companies, serving in sales, operations and leadership roles.

She was born and raised in the Joliet area and attended Bradley University, graduating with a B.S. degree in Operations Management / Information Systems.

Alice and her husband Mark reside in Joliet where they spend their spare time updating and “retro-izing” a 1965 mid-century modern house.   They share this home with their resident rescue cats who won the lottery when Alice attempted to be a foster caregiver for NAWS (National Animal Welfare Society.)  Alice is excited to join the museum staff and collaborate with the team to preserve and share the musical culture and history of Illinois and to create a destination in downtown Joliet.
